Description

The LYYT 12V DC power supply delivers 150W of constant voltage output at 12.5A maximum current, housed in an IP67-rated aluminium enclosure with sealed cable glands. It converts 185-250Vac mains input to regulated 12Vdc output, powering LED tape, strip lighting, signage and low-voltage lighting systems in both indoor and outdoor installations.

Designed for commercial and residential LED installations where the power supply is exposed to moisture, dust or outdoor conditions, the IP67 rating protects the internal circuitry from water ingress and particulate contamination. The unit provides two output terminals, allowing a single power supply to feed two separate LED runs or create a loop feed configuration where the cable runs back to the driver. This reduces the need for multiple smaller drivers in larger installations.

The ribbed aluminium housing acts as a passive heatsink, dissipating heat without fans or moving parts. At 244 x 72 x 45mm and 2.75kg, the driver can be surface-mounted outdoors or concealed in suitable junction boxes indoors. The dual output terminals accept bare wire or ferrule terminations, and the input side uses a sealed cable gland rated to the same IP67 standard as the body.

What length of LED tape can this power?

At 150W capacity, the driver can power approximately 12.5 metres of 12W/m LED tape or 30 metres of 5W/m tape, assuming even load distribution. Always calculate total wattage demand before connecting multiple LED runs to avoid exceeding the 12.5A maximum output.

Can it be mounted outdoors?

Yes. The IP67 rating protects against sustained water immersion to 1m depth and complete dust ingress, making it suitable for outdoor mounting in gardens, under eaves, or in protected external locations. Ensure cable glands are correctly sealed during installation.

Does it need active cooling?

No. The ribbed aluminium housing provides passive cooling through natural convection. There are no fans or moving parts. The driver should be mounted in a position with adequate airflow and not enclosed in airtight boxes or insulated cavities.

What wire gauge is needed for the output?

At 12.5A maximum output, use minimum 2.5mm² cable for runs up to 10m, or heavier gauge for longer distances to minimise voltage drop. The output terminals accept bare wire or ferrule terminations up to 4mm².
