Description
The LYYT 153.744UK is a 60W 12V DC power supply housed in an IP67-rated aluminium casing with waterproof cable glands, delivering 5A continuous output for LED tape installations, strip lighting and low-voltage architectural lighting. The unit converts 185-250V AC mains to regulated 12V DC, providing stable voltage for LED systems that cannot tolerate fluctuation.
Designed for both indoor and outdoor installation, the IP67 rating protects the internal circuitry against dust ingress and temporary water immersion up to 1m depth, making the unit suitable for covered exterior locations, damp environments, bathrooms (outside zones), and garden lighting runs where the power supply sits in a sheltered position. The casing dimensions of 222 x 29 x 21mm allow the unit to be concealed behind architectural trims, inside light pelmets, or mounted in outdoor junction boxes.
The 60W capacity handles up to 5 metres of high-density 12V LED tape (rated at 12W per metre) or 10 metres of mid-density tape (6W per metre), with the output feeding from a single terminal block that supports one or two loop feeds depending on the wiring configuration. The aluminium casing acts as a heatsink, dissipating heat through the finned surface without requiring forced ventilation. At 240g the unit is light enough for bracket mounting or adhesive backing where structural load is a consideration.

Frequently Asked
How much LED tape can this power?
The 60W output at 12V DC provides 5A, which supports approximately 5 metres of high-density LED tape rated at 12W per metre, or up to 10 metres of mid-density tape at 6W per metre. Always check the wattage-per-metre rating on your specific tape before sizing the power supply.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. The IP67 rating protects against dust and temporary water immersion up to 1m depth, making the unit suitable for covered outdoor locations such as under eaves, inside garden feature housings, or in weatherproof junction boxes. It should not be left fully exposed to direct rain or standing water for extended periods.
Does it require ventilation?
The aluminium casing with finned surface acts as a passive heatsink, dissipating heat through convection. No forced ventilation (fans) is required, but the unit should not be enclosed in an airtight box or buried in insulation where heat cannot escape.
What does 'one or two loop output feeds' mean?
The single output terminal block can be wired to supply one continuous LED tape run, or split into two separate feeds if the installation design requires LED tape on two sides of a room or structure. Both feeds share the same 60W total capacity.
