Description
The LYYT 12V DC power supply delivers 30W at 2.5A through a single output feed, designed for LED tape installations requiring consistent voltage in damp or outdoor environments. The IP67-rated housing is sealed against dust ingress and immersion up to 1m depth for 30 minutes, making it suitable for external signage, garden lighting runs, bathroom LED tape, and kitchen under-cabinet installations where moisture is a factor.
The unit accepts 185-250V AC mains input at 50/60Hz and converts it to regulated 12V DC output. At 30W maximum load, the power supply supports approximately 2.5 metres of standard 60-LED-per-metre 12V LED tape (12W per metre), or 6 metres of lower-density 5W-per-metre tape. The single output feed terminates in bare wire cores (live, neutral, earth on mains side; positive and negative on output side), requiring connection via IP67-rated junction boxes or suitable waterproof connectors when used outdoors.
The compact 140 x 30 x 20mm aluminium case dissipates heat without requiring forced ventilation, and the 190g weight allows the unit to be surface-mounted or tucked into recesses behind cove lighting. The IP67 rating applies when cable glands are correctly fitted and sealed — installation by a qualified electrician is required for outdoor permanent installations, and the unit must be positioned where it cannot be submerged beyond the IP67 limit.

Frequently Asked
How much LED tape can this power supply run?
At 30W capacity, the unit supports approximately 2.5 metres of standard 12V LED tape rated at 12W per metre, or up to 6 metres of lower-density tape at 5W per metre. Calculate total wattage by multiplying tape length by wattage-per-metre — stay below 30W total load.
Is the IP67 rating suitable for permanent outdoor installation?
Yes, when correctly installed. IP67 protects against dust and temporary immersion up to 1m depth for 30 minutes. The unit must be mounted where it cannot be permanently submerged, and all cable entry points must use IP67-rated cable glands. Installation by a qualified electrician is required for outdoor mains wiring.
What connectors are included?
The power supply terminates in bare wire cores on both mains input and 12V DC output. You will need to provide IP67-rated junction boxes or waterproof connectors to join the output to your LED tape, and appropriate mains wiring connection via an IP67 enclosure for outdoor use.
Can this be used indoors?
Yes. The IP67 rating exceeds the requirement for most indoor LED tape installations, making it suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, and other damp locations as well as dry areas. The sealed housing prevents dust accumulation in workshop or garage environments.
