Description

This is a stoneware serving platter with an oval outline, 34cm long, 25cm wide and 3.5cm tall, finished with a gently raised rim. Its multicoloured decoration runs around the edge: a garland of leaves, large sunburst flower heads gathered at either end, small scattered blooms and a little bird near the front, all on a softly speckled ground with a fine line tracing the rim. The centre is left open, so the pattern frames the food rather than competing with it.
