Description

The Luxeon Slim is a 2-metre recessed magnetic track system in white aluminium, designed to sit flush with ceilings for a clean installation line. The track accepts magnetic-mount spotlights and directional heads (sold separately) that clip into place along the 2000mm length without tools, allowing light positions to be adjusted after installation.

Designed for retail displays, office task lighting and residential accent lighting where ceiling space allows recessed mounting, the track's 38mm projection and white finish work in environments where visible surface-mounted rail would disrupt the ceiling plane. The magnetic system means spotlights can be repositioned along the track as displays, desks or furniture layouts change, without re-wiring or cutting new ceiling apertures.

The white powder-coated aluminium finish integrates into white or light-toned ceilings and the IP20 rating confirms indoor-only use. The track itself carries no integrated lighting — it's a powered rail system that accepts separately-purchased magnetic track heads. The 5-year warranty covers the track structure and electrical components, but excludes damage from incorrect installation or overloading beyond the rated capacity.

The Luxeon Slim accepts magnetic-mount track heads sold separately by Ideal Lux and other manufacturers producing compatible magnetic track spotlights. Check the product specifications of any spotlight to confirm magnetic track compatibility before purchase.

How is the track powered?

The track requires a mains power feed through a ceiling void. A qualified electrician should connect the track to the building's electrical supply during installation. The track then distributes power to any magnetic spotlights clipped onto it.

Can the track be cut to a shorter length?

Aluminium track can be cut with a hacksaw or mitre saw, but cutting voids the manufacturer's warranty and requires re-terminating the electrical conductors inside the track. For non-standard lengths, consult a qualified electrician before cutting.

What does dimmable mean for a track system?

The track itself supports dimming when paired with dimmable magnetic spotlights and a compatible dimmer on the mains feed. The track does not contain a built-in dimmer — dimming is controlled at the circuit level.
