Description

The Luxeon is a 190mm spherical pendant light with an opal white glass globe and a matt black aluminium canopy. An integrated 10W LED module inside the sphere casts warm 3000K light through the opal glass, diffusing it evenly in all directions. The LED is dimmable on trailing-edge and most leading-edge dimmer switches, allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low ambient glow.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, hallways and commercial settings, the Luxeon works as a single pendant over a breakfast bar or small dining table, or in multiples spaced 800-1200mm apart over kitchen islands and counter runs. The 2200mm cable length allows the drop to be adjusted on installation, typically sitting 600-800mm above a worktop or 700-850mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The matt black canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable conceals the wiring run.

The opal glass sphere is mouth-blown and shows slight tonal variation between individual pieces, which is characteristic of artisan glasswork. The matt black finish on the aluminium canopy and suspension collar provides a clean contrast against the white glass and works across both monochrome and warm-toned interiors. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations, and the integrated LED delivers consistent 3000K output without needing bulb replacement.

Is the Luxeon compatible with dimmer switches?

Yes. The integrated 10W LED is dimmable on trailing-edge dimmers and most leading-edge models. Dimmer compatibility varies by manufacturer, so testing with your specific dimmer is recommended before final installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 2200mm cable is adjustable on installation. For positioning above a dining table or worktop, the pendant typically sits 700-850mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the fitting if the cable is shortened during installation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Luxeon to dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or outdoor use.

Does the glass vary between pieces?

Yes. Each opal glass sphere is mouth-blown, so slight tonal variation and minor surface texture differences occur between individual pieces. This is a characteristic of artisan glasswork, not a defect.
