Description

The Luxeon is a 250W constant voltage LED driver that outputs 48V DC for powering LED strips, panels and low-voltage LED arrays. The magnetic casing allows the driver to be surface-mounted on metal surfaces or ceiling track systems, providing mechanical retention without additional fixings while keeping the unit accessible for maintenance.

Designed for indoor commercial and residential installations including retail lighting, hospitality fitouts, under-cabinet runs and architectural cove lighting, the driver handles input voltage fluctuations on 230V mains and delivers stable 48V output to prevent LED flicker. The 250W capacity suits installations requiring multiple metres of LED strip or several LED panels on a single driver circuit. The IP20 rating provides dust ingress protection suitable for dry interior locations above suspended ceilings, behind panels or in electrical cupboards.

The driver measures 268mm long with a 16mm profile depth and ships with a 2000mm cable run, giving flexibility in positioning the unit away from visible surfaces while keeping cable runs manageable. The non-dimmable output maintains consistent voltage across the connected load, making it appropriate for installations where switching rather than dimming is the primary control method. The robust metal-bodied construction and magnetic base provide durability in high-vibration environments such as transport hubs or industrial-edge commercial spaces.

Is this driver suitable for outdoor LED installations?

No. The IP20 rating provides dust protection only and does not protect against moisture. For outdoor or damp-location installations, a driver with IP65 or IP67 rating is required.

Can the Luxeon be dimmed?

No. This is a non-dimmable driver providing constant 48V output. For dimmable installations, a driver with 0-10V, DALI or phase-cut dimming capability is required.

What LED strip length can this driver power?

The 250W capacity allows approximately 50m of 5W/m LED strip, 25m of 10W/m strip, or 12.5m of 20W/m strip at full load. Always leave 10-20% headroom below the maximum rated capacity for safety and driver longevity.

How does the magnetic mount work?

The driver casing has integrated magnets that adhere to ferrous metal surfaces such as steel track systems, ceiling panels or mounting plates. This provides mechanical retention without drilling or screwing, allowing the driver to be repositioned or removed for maintenance without disturbing the wiring.
