Description

The Luto CTX is a compact round recessed downlight built around a single MR16 lamp on a Gx5.3 cap, drawing up to 10W at low voltage (12V AC or DC). In US terms it sits in the recessed can light family, though this is a slim trim-and-lamp fitting rather than a deep housing, dropping flush into the ceiling for a clean, unobtrusive light point. The lamp is supplied separately, so the beam spread, brightness and colour temperature follow whichever MR16 you fit, giving you control over the look from a focused accent to a wider wash.

Its small Ø85mm face and shallow 25mm depth suit ceilings with limited void space, including hallways, landings, alcoves and shelf recesses where a larger downlight will not fit. Several units spaced in a line or grid work well for general or accent lighting across a room, with the exact spacing and output set by the MR16 lamps you choose. Being an IP20 fitting, it is for dry indoor rooms only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or exposed location.

The body is aluminium alloy in a white finish, sized for a neat recessed fit in the ceiling with the lamp held in the Gx5.3 holder. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a 12V transformer or driver sized to the lamp load rather than connecting direct to mains. At just 48g it is light to handle during install, and the trim wipes clean with a soft dry cloth. The Luto range includes further recessed fittings in matching finishes to keep a run of downlights consistent.
