Description
The Lunar is a 220mm wide outdoor wall light with a brown painted die-cast aluminium body and a satin-finish Pyrex glass diffuser positioned at the base. The fitting directs light downward through the glass panel, casting a soft pool of illumination onto pathways, patio areas or the base of exterior walls. It accepts a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament light sources.
Designed for external installation on house facades, garden walls, gateposts and outbuilding exteriors, the Lunar carries an IP55 rating that protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The brown finish provides a warmer alternative to standard graphite or black outdoor fittings, pairing with terracotta, brick, timber cladding and warm-toned render. The 85mm projection from the wall minimises obstruction in narrower pathways while the Pyrex diffuser softens the light output to reduce glare.
The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and wet climates better than pressed steel alternatives, and the powder-coated brown finish is applied to the metal before assembly to prevent moisture ingress at the joints. The downward light distribution keeps the upper facade of a building unlit, which can help reduce light pollution and maintain darker skies where needed. The Pyrex glass diffuser is impact-resistant and cleans with a damp cloth.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP55 rating mean?
IP55 provides protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The Lunar can be installed in exposed positions on exterior walls, patios and garden areas where it will be subjected to rain, spray from hoses or pressure washers, and airborne dust.
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor pathway and patio lighting. The dimmable rating means it will work with compatible dimmer switches when paired with a dimmable bulb.
How is it mounted?
The Lunar mounts directly to a wall using screws through the back plate. The 85mm projection from the wall includes the fitting depth, so the rear mounting plate sits flush with the wall surface and fixings pass through into a suitable substrate (brick, block, timber stud or masonry).
Can it be installed upside down for upward light?
The design positions the diffuser at the base for downward light distribution. Installing it inverted would place the diffuser at the top, but the fitting is not sealed in that orientation and moisture could collect inside the housing. It should be installed as shown with the diffuser at the base.
