Description

Luna Light Round L is a round wall mirror two metres across, made as two half moons rather than a single disc. They meet at a recessed central joint that sits deeper than the glass either side, and an LED strip is set into that channel, so the light comes from the seam rather than from behind the mirror. Lit, the joint reads as a line of light dividing the disc. The design is by Studio Segers.

This is the largest size the design is made in, and at two metres it is a wall in its own right rather than something hung on one. It arrives in parts and is assembled in place, which is the only way a mirror this size gets into a room. It hangs in one direction, with the joint upright. At 53kg it needs two people and fixings into something genuinely structural; two screws, washers and plugs are supplied. It is not rated for bathroom use, so keep it to dry rooms. The lit joint does work in a dim hallway that an unlit mirror cannot, and a smaller 150cm size is made, as is a version with a black glass strip in place of the light.

The mirror is mirrored glass with an integrated LED strip and a cord. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth, working outwards from the joint rather than across it, and keep liquid away from the lit channel. Neither half stands proud of the other, so lit or unlit the disc still reads as a single plane. Seven year warranty on the mirror and two on the LED, made in Europe.
