Description
Luna Black Round L is a round wall mirror two metres across, made as two half moons rather than a single disc. The halves meet at a recessed central joint that sits deeper than the glass either side of it, and a strip of black lacquered glass runs down that channel, so the join is the feature rather than something to be hidden. At this diameter the mirror reads as an architectural surface rather than a piece of furniture. The design is by Studio Segers.
Two metres of mirror needs a wall chosen for it: a stairwell, a hallway that can take the length, or a living room where it can sit clear of furniture on both sides. It arrives in parts and is put together on the wall, which is what makes a piece this size possible to carry upstairs at all. It hangs in one direction only. At 53kg it is a genuine two person lift and the fixings must go into something structural rather than plasterboard alone; two screws with washers and plugs are supplied. It is not rated for bathroom use, so keep it to dry rooms. The recessed joint collects dust more readily than a flat pane, so it is worth a dry brush along the channel when the glass is cleaned.
The mirror is mirrored glass with a black lacquered glass strip at the joint, 3.5cm deep. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth, working outwards from the joint rather than across it. Seven year warranty, made in Europe.

Frequently Asked
Does it arrive in one piece?
No. It comes as two half moons and is assembled on the wall, which is what makes a two metre mirror manageable to install.
How heavy is it?
53kg, so it needs two people and fixings into something structural.
What is the black strip down the middle?
Black lacquered glass, set into a channel that sits deeper than the mirror either side of it.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. It is not rated for bathroom use, so keep it to dry rooms.
How many directions does it hang in?
One. The joint runs vertically and the mirror is designed to be hung that way.
