Description
The Lumis is a 2-light twin-head lamp post in antique black die-cast aluminium, standing approximately 2.2m tall with two downward-facing lantern heads on curved swan-neck arms. Each head houses an E27 bulb fitting behind a clear acrylic diffuser, casting light downward and outward to illuminate pathways, driveways or front garden borders.
Designed for residential gardens, estate driveways and courtyard entrances, the lamp post provides ambient boundary lighting at a height that throws light across a 3-4m radius per head without glare at eye level. The twin-head configuration makes it suitable for positioning at drive entrances, garden gate posts, or along longer pathways where a single central post needs to light both sides. The IP43 rating provides protection against rain and solid objects larger than 1mm, making it appropriate for standard UK outdoor installation in non-coastal locations.
The die-cast aluminium body resists corrosion better than pressed steel alternatives, and the antique black finish — a textured dark bronze-black with subtle undertones — weathers without showing minor scratches as prominently as gloss-black painted finishes. The post features vertical fluting detail on the column and a square plinth base that bolts to a concrete foundation or paving slab. Each lantern head measures approximately 250mm in diameter, and the clear acrylic diffuser can be removed for bulb changes without tools.
The lamp post is dimmable when paired with dimmable E27 LED bulbs and a compatible outdoor dimming system. Most installations use warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W per head to provide functional pathway lighting without excessive brightness. The 5-year warranty covers manufacturing defects in the die-cast body and fittings but excludes weathering, accidental damage and bulbs.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Lumis take?
Each head takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor pathway lighting.
Is it suitable for coastal locations?
The IP43 rating and die-cast aluminium body provide standard outdoor weather protection but are not specifically rated for salt-spray coastal environments. For exposed coastal sites, a higher IP rating and marine-grade finish would be advisable.
How is the lamp post installed?
The square plinth base bolts to a concrete foundation or paving slab. The post requires a buried armoured cable connection to mains supply, typically installed by a qualified electrician. Foundation depth depends on soil type but typically requires 300-400mm concrete footing.
Can the diffusers be removed for cleaning?
Yes. The clear acrylic diffusers unscrew or unclip from each lantern head without tools, allowing access for bulb changes and cleaning of the inside of the diffuser and reflector.
