Description

The Lucia is a 318mm diameter drum pendant light built around a burnished silver metal frame enclosing sunflower-cut Bauhinia crystals, topped with a soft linen outer shade and a glass bottom diffuser. A single E27 bulb (sold separately, max 60W) sits inside the drum, casting light through the linen and glass to create ambient illumination while the crystals refract and scatter edge light into the room.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and hallway installations where a compact pendant provides both task and decorative lighting, the Lucia's 318mm footprint suits spaces with table widths of 1.2-1.6m or narrower island runs. The drop is adjustable on installation from 360mm to 1410mm, allowing the pendant to be set 700-800mm above a dining surface or 600-750mm above a kitchen worktop depending on ceiling height. The burnished silver finish provides a muted metallic tone that sits between polished chrome and antique brass, pairing with both warm and cool colour schemes.

The sunflower-cut Bauhinia crystals are arranged in a honeycomb pattern inside the metal cage, each crystal measuring approximately 40mm across. When the bulb is lit, the crystals catch and refract light at multiple angles, creating subtle sparkle without the full chandelier effect of hanging droplets. The linen shade diffuses the main downlight, preventing glare while the glass diffuser at the base spreads the light evenly across a table surface. The combined metal frame, crystals, linen and glass give the fitting a weight of approximately 2kg, requiring a secure ceiling rose for safe installation.

What bulb does the Lucia take?

The pendant takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately). Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED at 2700K-3000K for ambient dining light, or a filament-style LED where the bulb is partially visible through the linen shade.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

No. The drop is set during installation by trimming the suspension rod to the required length between 360mm and 1410mm. Once installed, the height cannot be adjusted without removing the pendant and re-fitting.

What dining table size does it suit?

The 318mm diameter works best over tables 1.2-1.6m wide. For larger tables or wider islands, consider clustering two Lucia pendants or pairing with a second pendant of similar scale.

How is the linen shade cleaned?

The linen outer shade can be gently vacuumed with a soft brush attachment or wiped with a barely-damp microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking the fabric or using chemical cleaners. The crystals and glass diffuser can be wiped with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust.
