Description

The Lucet is a 102 x 76cm rectangular wall mirror built around a carved wood frame finished in gold and ivory. The frame features Rococo-style scroll and shell motifs at each corner and along the top and bottom rails, with the gold finish applied over the raised relief details and the ivory tone filling the recessed background panels.

Designed for traditional, classical and period-inspired interiors, the Lucet works above mantelpieces in living rooms, in entrance halls as a feature piece, or in bedrooms above dressing tables. The 5cm projection from the wall gives the frame physical depth, which casts shadows along the carved details when the mirror is positioned to catch natural or accent lighting. At 15-26kg depending on the exact batch, the mirror requires two D-ring fixings secured into wall plugs rated for the weight.

The wood frame is hand-carved before the gold and ivory finish is applied, so small variations in the exact depth and position of individual scrollwork details exist between pieces. The gold tone sits somewhere between antique brass and old gilt, darker and warmer than bright polished gold. The ivory background softens the overall visual weight of the frame and provides contrast that brings out the relief detail when viewed from across a room.
