Three clear shades, each one drawn out and tapered like a wine glass, hang from a round satin nickel plate 40cm across. The frame is slim and the shades sit level with one another, so the row reads as a run of light rather than as separate fittings. Each holds an E27 lamp, and the drop adjusts, so the shades can be pulled up close to the ceiling or let down low over a surface. It can be dimmed if you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer.

The drop adjusts from 270mm at its shortest to 2270mm at its longest, so it works both under a low ceiling and down a stairwell.

Which lamps should I use?

It takes three E27 lamps of up to 20W each. Since the shades are clear, a decorative LED with a filament you are happy to look at works best.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and a matching dimmer. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer come with the fitting.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as dining rooms, kitchens, hallways and landings.

How big and how heavy is it?

The ceiling plate measures 400mm in diameter and the fitting weighs 3.8kg.

How should I clean the clear shades?

With the power off and the lamps cool, dust the outside with a soft dry cloth. For smears, a barely damp cloth and a dry buff afterwards will do it; keep water away from the lampholders.
