Description

The Lodods is a rounded wire-cage pendant light in a soft sand finish, made from steel. Slender vertical wires sweep out from a central holder and curve back in at the base, giving a full, globe-like shape that still feels open and airy. It measures 45cm across and 110cm in overall height, hanging on a slim black cord from a round ceiling canopy in the same sand colour. It takes a single E27 bulb, not included, so the brightness and warmth are your choice. Its IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor rooms, so it belongs in living spaces and never in a bathroom or porch.

Hung over the centre of a dining table, the 45cm cage has enough presence to anchor the setting without blocking the view across the room. It suits a kitchen island or a bedroom just as well, wherever a bare bulb would feel too stark. The sand colour is a warm neutral that sits happily with oak, linen, stone and soft greys, so it is a good match for anyone furnishing in calm, natural tones. Because the cage is open, the bulb becomes part of the look: a decorative filament or globe bulb shows through the wires and adds a little warmth of its own.

Steel is a strong material that holds its shape, which makes it a sound choice for a frame of fine wires. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 2.1KG. Our practical tip: choose your E27 bulb with care, since it sits on show at the heart of the cage.

Frequently Asked

Can the Lodods pendant go in a bathroom?

Does the pendant have its own switch?

There is no switch on the light itself. It is switched at the wall, in the same way as most ceiling lights.
