Description

The Livette is a long, low LED flush ceiling light. Two wavy arms in black steel and aluminium sweep out from a round canopy and cross over one another, so the light seems to drift across the ceiling. A white plastic diffuser runs along the underside of each arm, covering the integrated LEDs and softening the glare. It measures 116cm long, 18cm wide and 11.5cm high. The LEDs draw 37W and give 4,700lm at 3000K, a warm white. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

Because it runs 116cm from end to end, it works well over a long dining table or along the length of a living room, spreading light along the space rather than pooling it in the middle. At 11.5cm high it stays close to the ceiling, which suits rooms where a hanging pendant would crowd the room. The black arms draw a crisp line against a pale ceiling by day, and after dark the warm white light gives a relaxed feel for dinner or a quiet evening. With 4,700lm it has the output to serve as the main light in a room, and a bedroom or a long hallway suits it just as well.

The body is steel and aluminium in a black finish, and the diffusers are white plastic. The LEDs are integrated, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it runs from the wall switch in the room. Its energy class is E. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
