Description

The Lirosa is a flush ceiling light with a railway style shade of clear ribbed glass, set close to the ceiling on a short brass fitting and a round ceiling plate. The fine vertical ribs catch the light and soften it as it passes through, so a single bulb gives a bright, even glow with a little sparkle at the rim. It is 18cm tall and 30cm across, made from brass and glass, and it comes in seven finishes: Polished Copper, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome, Satin Brass and Satin Chrome.

Because it sits tight to the ceiling, the Lirosa suits a hallway, where headroom matters and a pendant would only get in the way. It brings a touch of period character, the look of an old railway lamp, to a narrow space without crowding it, and the ribbed glass spreads its light well along the length of the hall. The warmer finishes, Polished Copper and Antique Brass among them, lean towards a traditional scheme, while Polished Chrome and Satin Chrome sit comfortably in a cleaner, more modern one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

Every Lirosa is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass with a ribbed glass shade, and finished in whichever of the seven finishes you choose. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, so pick one that fits that holder and stays within that wattage. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, though bulbs are not covered. As a mains fitting it is wired in by a qualified electrician, so it is worth booking one when you decide where in the hall it will sit.
