Description

The Lira is a pendant light with a wide, shallow dome shade in matt black, hung on a textile cable from a round ceiling canopy. Its structure is aluminium, and the matt finish keeps the dark surface soft and even rather than glossy. It takes one GX53 lamp, which is not included, so you choose the lamp that suits the room. It comes in two sizes: the 40cm, which is 40cm across with a shade 5cm tall, and the 60cm, which is 60cm across with a shade 10cm tall. Both hang from a 12cm canopy on a 1.5m cable.

The broad, low dome sits naturally over a dining table, a desk or a sideboard, where a pendant light earns its place. The 60cm suits a larger dining table or a wide living room, while the 40cm fits a hallway, a bedroom, a study or a smaller dining area. Its clean, modern lines sit comfortably in Scandinavian interiors and in plainer contemporary rooms alike, and the matt black gives a crisp outline against a pale ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. Its control is on-off, so it runs from an ordinary wall switch rather than a dimmer.
