Description

This is a black lighting cable, 500cm long, for giving a light a new or longer lead. A black outer sheath carries three cores in brown, blue and green and yellow, with the cores stripped back at both ends. It comes without a lamp socket, so there is no lamp holder fitted at either end and the light it serves keeps its own. The whole length weighs 0.26KG.

We stock it for the customer whose light needs a fresh lead: a pendant whose original cable has become worn or discoloured, a light being rehung at a new height, or a project where the supplied lead is simply too short. At 500cm there is generous length for a long drop or a winding run, and the black finish suits dark fittings, black ceiling roses and modern or industrial rooms, where a pale lead would catch the eye. It is a small part, but the right one keeps a favourite light in use rather than in a cupboard.

The black sheath runs the full length, and the three coloured cores are easy to identify. It carries no stated IP rating, so keep it to dry indoor places, well away from water.
