Description

The Leo is a 440mm square flush ceiling light combining smoked mirror glass with frosted panels behind a black chrome frame. Three E27 bulbs sit behind the central curved glass panel and side panels, with the smoked mirror finish softening light transmission and reducing glare while the frosted square grid detail on the central panel diffuses the light evenly across the fixture.

Designed for low-ceiling rooms where a pendant would sit too low, the Leo projects just 100mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms (check IP rating separately), and living rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m. The black chrome finish provides a darker, warmer alternative to polished chrome or brushed steel and pairs well with grey, charcoal and warm-toned interiors. The side panels extend outward from the central glass, creating a layered architectural profile when viewed from below.

The smoked glass is tinted grey-brown rather than solid black, so when the light is on, it transmits a warm glow filtered through the glass tint and frosted grid. When off, the mirrored surface reflects the ceiling and surrounding walls, blending into darker ceilings more naturally than clear glass equivalents. The 440mm footprint covers a standard UK ceiling rose and the fixture weighs 2.4kg once assembled, requiring secure fixings into a ceiling joist or suitable anchor point.

The Leo takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to complement the smoked glass tint.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 100mm projection from the ceiling makes it appropriate for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where pendant lights would hang too low. The flush design keeps the fitting close to the ceiling plane.

Is it dimmable?

The fixture itself supports dimming when paired with dimmable E27 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Check that both the bulbs and dimmer are rated for LED if using LED bulbs, as not all LED bulbs dim smoothly on all dimmer types.

How is the smoked glass cleaned?

Wipe the smoked mirror panels with a soft microfibre cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing, which can damage the mirrored coating. Clean when the bulbs are off and the glass is cool.
