Description

The Leela is a square pleated fabric lampshade in white, with a 15cm top opening, 30cm bottom base and 22.5cm height. The shade body is constructed from white fabric pleated into vertical ribs that run from top to bottom, giving the surface a crisp geometric texture that catches and diffuses light through the folds.

Designed for table lamps and wall lights where the shade is visible from multiple angles, the Leela suits bedside lamps, console table lamps in hallways, and traditional wall brackets in living rooms. The square footprint fits both round and square lamp bases, and the included reducer ring adapts the 15cm top aperture to fit smaller fittings. The shade accepts bulbs up to 100W, allowing for LED, halogen or filament light sources depending on preference.

The white fabric is lined on the interior to prevent hotspots and shadows from the bulb showing through the pleats when lit, giving an even diffused glow across the full surface of the shade. The pleating adds vertical depth without bulk, so the shade maintains a compact 440g weight suitable for lightweight wall brackets and slender table lamp columns. The white finish reflects maximum light back into the room while pairing neutrally with any colour scheme.

What size lamp base does this shade fit?

The 30cm square base suits table lamps with a base diameter of 100-200mm and overall height of 400-600mm. The shade comes with a reducer ring to fit smaller lamp fittings with narrower necks. Check your existing lamp's fitting diameter before ordering.

Can I use LED bulbs with this shade?

Yes. The 100W maximum rating is based on traditional filament bulbs. LED equivalents drawing 8-12W are compatible and run cooler, which extends the life of the fabric. Choose warm-white (2700K-3000K) LEDs for the most natural light through white fabric.

Is the pleating fixed or can it flatten?

The pleats are permanently set into the fabric structure during manufacture and will not flatten or lose their shape with normal use. Avoid pressing or crushing the shade during handling to maintain the crisp pleat definition.

How is the fabric cleaned?

Remove dust with a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low suction, working gently down each pleat. For marks, a barely-damp lint-free cloth with distilled water can be used, but avoid soaking the fabric. Do not use spray cleaners or bleach-based products on white fabric shades.
