Description
This LED strip light is a long, narrow ribbon of closely set LEDs that gives a continuous line of warm white light. It is 2000cm long and just 1cm wide, so it tucks into gaps and along edges where a conventional lamp would never fit. The LEDs are integrated and run at a colour temperature of 3000K, the soft, golden end of white that feels homely after dark. It carries an IP20 rating, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, well away from splashing water.
The great strength of a strip light is that the light comes from a line rather than a point, so it washes a surface evenly instead of throwing a single pool. We like it along the top of a bookcase, tucked behind a headboard, around a raised ceiling or beneath a floating shelf, where the strip itself stays out of sight and only the glow shows. With that much length, a long run of shelving can be lit with a single strip. It suits anyone who wants a calm, layered look in a living room, bedroom or hallway without adding another lamp to the furniture.
There is no switch on the strip itself; it is switched at the wall, so it answers to a wall switch like any other light in the room. The LEDs are not replaceable and the strip has no driver of its own, so it is worth planning the whole run before you start. A short lead at one end finishes in a connector. The whole length weighs 0.5KG, so it adds next to no load to a shelf or cabinet. The installation instructions come as a download, and we suggest reading them first so the strip goes exactly where you want it.
