Description

This little lapis gemstone ornament is a tree of twisted gold-coloured wire, each fine branch tipped with a chip of deep blue stone and its trunk rising from a heaped bed of matching chips. A clear, shiny dome with a round knob on top sits over the whole tree, so the blue shows strongly through it from every side. The piece stands 11.7cm tall, 7.5cm wide and 7.4cm deep. Below the chips the tree rests on a warm brown round base with a pale ring beneath it, which gives the blue and gold tones a soft, earthy setting.

Because it is so compact, it fits where larger ornaments will not: a bedside table, a narrow bookshelf, a desk beside the keyboard or a windowsill where the light can catch the chips.
