Description

A planter in hammered aluminium, 14cm high and 20.5cm across, with a rounded body that swells out below the rim and draws back in at the top. The outside is worked all over with small raised dots set in close rows, so the olive grey never reads as a flat surface. The rim is a plain narrow lip and the inside is finished dark, close to black.

At 20.5cm across and 14cm deep it takes a small potted plant rather than a large one, and because the rim draws in, the pot inside sits out of sight while the leaves clear the metal. It is made in a larger size as well. A shelf, a side table or a windowsill will take it just as well.

The planter is aluminium. Sheets are cut, hammered and welded by hand, then worked over with the markings that make the dotted surface, so the pattern is never quite even and no two planters come out the same. Laoko runs in two sizes, this one and a larger one at 23cm high and 30cm across. Supplied without an inner pot.
