Description
The Kupetz Linear 105 Union is a connecting piece from our Kupetz range: a short, rounded cap in a gold-toned finish that sits on a slim black rod, with a white globe hanging just beneath it. The cap is a neat cylinder with a softly curved top, and the rod runs straight through its sides, so the union reads as a small, bright joint along a clean horizontal line. It measures 250cm in height and 106.6cm in width, with a diameter of 15cm.
As a linear piece, it suits a long run of light across a room: over a dining table, along a sideboard, down a hallway or above a desk in a study. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and home offices are all good homes for it. The gold-toned cap against the black rod gives a crisp contrast that sits comfortably with dark timber, warm neutrals and brass or black details elsewhere in a room. It works just as well in restaurants, cafés and hotel lounges, where light set along one straight line keeps a large space looking ordered and calm.
The design is by e27 and Tim Brauns, and the union follows a simple, geometric idea: a cylinder, a sphere and a straight line, with nothing extra. It is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. Before you order, measure your room against the 250cm height and the 106.6cm width, and plan where the run will sit so that the globe falls exactly where you want light, such as over the centre of a table or a desk. The Kupetz light head in our photographs is not included.
