Kudo Ball Crystal Lampshade - French Gold

The Kudo Ball is a 200mm diameter crystal lampshade built around a spherical metal frame in French gold, set with multiple rows of faceted crystal beads. The shade is non-electric, designed to clip onto a separately-purchased suspension kit (such as Diyas IL60015, shown in the image but not included). The crystals sit within a lattice frame that holds each bead in place while allowing light from the bulb inside to pass through and refract across the facets.

Designed for dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms where a decorative pendant shade is needed without replacing the entire ceiling fitting, the Kudo Ball pairs with standard E27 or E14 lampholder suspension kits up to 100W. The 180mm height and 200mm width suit ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when hung 700-900mm above a table surface or sideboard. The French gold finish is a warm, slightly antiqued brass tone that softens reflections and pairs well with warm whites, creams and traditional interiors.

The crystal beads are individually set into the metal frame, so the shade has a solid 0.8kg weight that gives it stability once fitted. The spherical geometry means the shade casts light evenly in all directions, with the crystals breaking up direct glare from the bulb and scattering prismatic highlights onto surrounding walls. The shade arrives fully assembled and ready to clip onto the suspension ring of a compatible pendant kit.

Is a suspension kit included?

No. The Kudo Ball is a shade only and requires a separate suspension kit with a lampholder. Diyas IL60015 (shown in the image) is compatible, or any standard E27/E14 pendant suspension kit with a shade ring will work.

What bulb does it take?

The shade accepts any bulb up to 100W fitted into the suspension kit's lampholder. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb in E27 or E14 format depending on the suspension kit chosen.

How is the shade attached?

The top aperture of the shade clips or rests onto the shade ring of a standard pendant suspension kit. The shade ring diameter should match or slightly exceed the aperture at the top of the ball for a secure fit.

Can the crystals be cleaned?

Yes. Wipe each crystal bead gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes on the French gold finish as they may alter the tone.
