The Kudo is a 200mm spherical crystal lampshade built on an antique brass wire frame, with faceted crystal beads arranged in concentric circular rows across the entire surface. The shade is non-electric, meaning it clips or screws onto an existing lamp holder or pendant fitting rather than containing its own bulb socket. The antique brass frame shows a warm, aged patina with slight tonal variation across the metal.

Designed as a replacement or upgrade shade for pendant lights, table lamps and floor lamps, the Kudo fits standard BC (B22), ES (E27) and SES (E14) lamp holders depending on the fitting ring supplied. The 200mm diameter and 180mm height suit ceiling pendants hung 700-900mm above dining tables or kitchen islands, and table lamps on side tables or console surfaces where a decorative shade is needed. The spherical form distributes light in all directions, with the crystal beads refracting and scattering the light from the bulb inside.

Each crystal bead is individually set into the brass frame, creating a dense, faceted surface that catches and reflects both natural and artificial light. The antique brass finish contrasts with the clear crystals, giving the shade a warm metal base tone that works with traditional, classical and transitional interiors. At 0.8kg the shade has enough weight to sit securely on a lamp holder without needing additional support clips on most fittings.

Is this a complete light fitting or just a shade?

This is a non-electric shade only. It clips or screws onto an existing lamp holder on a pendant fitting, table lamp base or floor lamp. You will need a separate bulb and lamp holder or pendant fitting to use the shade.

The shade typically fits BC (B22), ES (E27) and SES (E14) lamp holders depending on the fitting ring supplied with the shade. Check the fitting ring diameter against your existing lamp holder before purchasing if replacing an existing shade.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Wipe the crystal beads gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water can be used on the crystals, but avoid soaking the antique brass frame as moisture can affect the patina. Do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on either the crystals or the brass.
