Description

Straight lines and angles do the work here: a geometric black frame, 25cm across, on a drop you can set high and tight or let fall well down. It takes an E27 lamp, and we would reach for a golf ball LED so the bulb stays in proportion with the frame around it. The scale is small for a pendant, which makes it easy to repeat along a run without crowding a room. Dimming is possible where the lamp and the dimmer are chosen to suit.

We like small pendants like this over a kitchen island or a run of worktop, spaced out so each lights its own patch. It suits a dining table where a wide shade would block sightlines across the room, and it works beside a bed or in a hallway that needs light without bulk. In a stairwell the long end of the drop earns its keep, giving one light that reads from both flights. Lamp choice shows here: a clear golf ball for sparkle, an opal one for a softer glow. It is rated for dry rooms indoors, so keep it away from bathrooms and porches.

The finish is black throughout, which keeps the outline crisp against a pale ceiling and lets it settle quietly against a darker one.
