Description

The Knightsbridge hole converter kit is a 140mm white pressed steel plate designed to cover and convert existing ceiling holes ranging from 78mm to 120mm in diameter. The kit includes a bridge connector, a 12V MR16 low voltage lampholder, and a GU10 230V mains lampholder, allowing you to fit either light source without additional wiring changes.

Designed for renovation and retrofit scenarios where an old downlight or ceiling fixture has left a hole that doesn't match the new fitting you want to install, the converter plate bridges the gap and provides a mounting point for a new lamp. The 12mm projection from the ceiling surface keeps the plate flush with standard plasterboard thickness, and the white finish blends with most ceiling paint finishes.

The pressed steel construction provides rigidity without excessive weight, and the kit arrives with all necessary components except the bulbs themselves. The included bridge connector links the two lampholders, giving flexibility to choose between 12V halogen or LED MR16 bulbs and 230V GU10 bulbs depending on the transformer and wiring already in place.

What size holes does this converter cover?

The 140mm diameter plate covers existing ceiling holes from 78mm to 120mm in diameter. Measure the hole before ordering to confirm it falls within this range.

Do bulbs come with the kit?

No. The kit includes the MR16 and GU10 lampholders and the bridge connector, but bulbs must be purchased separately. Choose either a 12V MR16 or a 230V GU10 bulb depending on your existing wiring.

Can I use this with LED bulbs?

Yes. The lampholders accept both halogen and LED bulbs in MR16 or GU10 formats. If you're replacing a halogen MR16 system with LED, check that your existing transformer is LED-compatible or switch to the GU10 lampholder for mains-voltage LED.

How is it fitted?
