The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 148mm square brushed chrome cover plate for modular flat plate grid systems. Constructed from premium-grade steel with a 3.5mm projection from the wall, the faceplate accommodates eight grid module positions arranged in a 4x2 layout, accepting any combination of switches, sockets, dimmers and data modules from the Knightsbridge flat plate grid range.

Designed for residential and commercial installations requiring multiple control points in a single location — typically kitchen worktops, home offices, conference rooms and bedside panels — the 8-gang faceplate requires two GDF002F grid frames (sold separately) to mount the modules behind the plate. The flat profile sits flush to the wall surface, with rounded corners and a low-reflection brushed finish that minimises visual impact compared to traditional raised cover plates.

The brushed chrome finish is applied to premium-grade steel, giving a harder-wearing surface than plated brass alternatives. The IP20 rating limits the faceplate to dry internal locations only — bathrooms and outdoor installations require higher IP-rated enclosures. The 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects and finish degradation under normal residential use.

This 8-gang faceplate requires two GDF002F grid frames to be fitted behind the plate. Each GDF002F accommodates four grid modules, so two frames together provide the eight positions this faceplate covers. The frames and modules are sold separately.

Is this compatible with standard UK back boxes?

The 8-gang faceplate is designed for the Knightsbridge flat plate grid system and fits standard dual UK back boxes mounted side-by-side. The grid frames fix to the back boxes, then the faceplate covers both frames. Check that your back box spacing matches the 148mm faceplate width before ordering.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits this faceplate to dry internal locations only. Bathroom zones and outdoor installations require higher IP-rated enclosures.

What modules can be fitted?

Any modules from the Knightsbridge flat plate grid range can be mixed within the eight positions — switches, dimmers, sockets, USB ports, data outlets and blank modules. The faceplate itself is finish-neutral, so modules can be chosen to match or contrast depending on preference.
