The Knightsbridge 4-gang grid faceplate is a polished chrome flat plate designed to house four grid modules in a single mounting. Measuring 148mm x 88mm with a 3.5mm projection from the wall, the faceplate coordinates with Knightsbridge's Flat Plate switches and sockets range and accepts standard grid inserts for switches, dimmers, data outlets and other modular components.

Designed for residential and commercial installations where modular grid systems provide flexibility to configure custom switch and socket layouts, the faceplate requires one GDF002F flat plate grid sub-frame (sold separately) to mount the grid modules behind the cover plate. The grid system allows four single-width modules or equivalent combinations (two double-width modules, or one triple-width plus one single-width) to be installed within the single faceplate aperture.

The premium-grade steel construction provides a rigid base that resists bowing or distortion when the cover plate is secured, and the polished chrome finish delivers a reflective metallic surface that pairs with traditional, contemporary and chrome-accented interiors. The 3.5mm projection keeps the faceplate close to the wall surface, maintaining the 'flat plate' profile that gives this range its name. The IP20 rating suits dry interior locations and the 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects.

What components are needed to complete the installation?

This faceplate requires one GDF002F flat plate grid sub-frame to mount the grid modules behind the cover plate. The sub-frame and the individual grid modules (switches, dimmers, sockets, data outlets) are sold separately. The faceplate itself is the visible finishing cover only.

How many grid modules does it hold?

The 4-gang faceplate holds four standard single-width grid modules, or equivalent combinations such as two double-width modules or one triple-width module plus one single-width module. The total capacity is four module widths.

Is it compatible with standard back boxes?

Yes. The GDF002F sub-frame (required, sold separately) fixes to a standard 25mm minimum back box. Deeper back boxes may be needed if the grid modules include components with greater depth requirements, such as dimmer modules.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior locations outside bathroom zones 0, 1 and 2. For bathroom installations, check the specific zone regulations and consider higher IP-rated alternatives if needed.
