Description

The Kira is a dome pendant light in matt white: a single rounded aluminium shade that hangs from a textile cable 1.5m long. The dome curves down from a stepped collar at the top to a wide, open rim, so its light falls downwards in a clear pool beneath it. It takes one E27 lamp, and the lamp is not included, so you choose the bulb yourself: a warm white lamp for a softer evening glow, or a cooler one for a crisper light to work by. It runs on 220 to 240V and is switched simply on and off, so there is no dimmer to think about.

With its modern, industrial lines, the Kira suits a dining table, a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a study, anywhere a single focused pendant makes sense. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only, so we would keep it to the living spaces of the house. Hung on its own, it gives a reading corner or a bedside a defined pool of light. Hung in a row of two or three over a long dining table, it gives a calm rhythm of repeated domes.

The shade and its structure are aluminium in a matt white finish, which gives a soft, even surface rather than a shiny one, and the cable is textile. It carries a 2 year guarantee. Like any mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install.
