Description
The Kiana is a tub armchair, 78cm wide and 76cm high, built around a single curved back that wraps round and rolls forward into the arms. It is upholstered in a natural cotton with a slubbed weave and a soft vertical stripe that shows more in the texture than in the colour. The front legs are turned mango wood standing on brass castors, and the back two are plain tapered legs without them.
The seat sits 38cm off the floor and measures 49cm across and 54cm deep, so this is a low, deep chair to sit back in rather than an upright one to perch on. Because the back is wrapped all the way round and the arms roll outward, it reads from behind as well as from the front, which lets it stand away from a wall. The castors on the front pair mean it can be turned to face a fire or a window without lifting the whole chair, and it weighs 12.5kg.
The chair is upholstered in cotton and linen, by hand, and the legs are hand-carved from mango wood and smoothed back so the grain shows through. The Kiana range runs to a matching upholstered bench and a storage ottoman, and the same armchair is made in a moss colourway.

Frequently Asked
What are the seat dimensions?
The seat is 38cm high, 49cm wide and 54cm deep.
Does it have castors?
On the front two legs only. The back two are plain tapered legs.
What is the fabric?
Cotton and linen, in a slubbed natural weave with a soft vertical stripe.
What are the legs made from?
Mango wood, hand-carved and left pale so the grain shows.
How do I look after it?
Vacuum or brush the surface regularly so dust does not work into the fibres, and avoid a rotating vacuum head, which can damage them. Treat small spills as spot cleaning: lift the liquid with an absorbent tissue, then blot with a sponge or a folded towel moistened in lukewarm water, and dry the area with warm air from a hairdryer so it does not mark. Larger or more stubborn stains should go to a professional. Keep the chair out of direct sunlight, which will fade natural dyes and yarns.
