Description
The Kiana is a tub armchair upholstered in a moss green cotton, with a rounded back that curves forward into low arms and a single deep seat cushion. The weave is coarse and slubby with a narrow stripe running through it, close enough in tone that it reads as texture until you are near it. The four legs are mango wood, turned and left pale, and the front two run on small brass castors.
It is 78cm wide, 77cm deep and 76cm to the top of the back. The seat sits 38cm from the floor and is 49cm across and 54cm deep, which is low and deep, so the chair is one to sit back in rather than sit up at. It was designed as a reading chair rather than a desk or dining one, for a corner by a window. The castors on the front legs mean it can be turned or drawn out without lifting.
The cover is cotton, upholstered by hand. The legs are hand carved from mango wood, shaped and smoothed so that the grain shows, and the front pair carry the castors. The chair weighs 12.5kg. The Kiana range also holds an upholstered bench, a storage ottoman, and this same armchair in a natural colourway.

Frequently Asked
How high is the seat?
38cm from the floor. The seat is 49cm across and 54cm deep.
Does it have castors?
Yes, on the front two legs. The back two are plain.
What are the legs made of?
Mango wood, carved and smoothed by hand.
Does it come in another colour?
Yes. The same armchair is made in a natural colourway.
How do I look after it?
Use a vacuum or a soft brush regularly to lift surface dust, but never a rotating vacuum head, which can damage the fibres. Ingrained dust wears the fabric and shortens its life. Spot clean small spills: lift the liquid with absorbent tissue, then blot with a sponge or a folded towel moistened in lukewarm water, and dry the area with warm air from a hairdryer to avoid water marks. Larger or stubborn stains should go to a professional. Keep the chair out of direct sunlight, as natural dyes and yarns fade in it.
