The Karnarne is a three-light linear pendant: a slim black steel bar holding three round globe shades of smoked, vaporised glass on fine black cords. It measures 76.5cm long, 16.5cm wide and 110cm high overall, so it reads as one long line of light rather than three separate drops. Each shade takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves you free to choose the colour and warmth of light you prefer. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Its natural home is over a dining table or a kitchen island, where a long run of light covers the length of the surface instead of pooling in the centre. The smoked glass tones down the glare of a bare bulb, and when the bulbs are unlit, the globes keep a mirrored sheen, so the pendant still looks finished by day.
