The Karnarne is a three light cluster pendant: three clear glass globes with an iridescent sheen, each hanging at its own height from a round chrome canopy. The body is steel with a chrome finish, and the drops are staggered so the globes sit in a loose triangle rather than a straight line. Overall it measures 110cm tall and 42.5cm across, a size that suits a dining table or a stairwell. Each globe takes an E27 bulb of up to 60W, so you choose the warmth and brightness yourself; bulbs are not included. It is rated IP20, which makes it an indoor light for the main living spaces of the home.

We think it looks its best over a round dining table, where the three globes gather above the centre and draw the eye from every seat. It works just as well in a hallway or on a landing, anywhere a single drop would look sparse. The iridescent glass gives soft flashes of pink and violet as the light passes through it, which brings colour to plain walls, while the clear globes keep the bulbs on show, so decorative filament bulbs are a natural choice. The chrome sits easily with grey, white and pale wood schemes.

The round canopy and the caps above each globe are steel in a chrome finish, and all three shades are glass. There is no switch on the pendant itself: it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V at 50/60Hz.
