Description

The Kara is a table lamp built around a hand-blown spherical glass base in a transparent aqua blue, paired with polished nickel collar fittings and a grey faux-silk drum shade. The blown glass base measures approximately 250mm diameter at its widest point and sits on a flat circular foot, with the polished nickel collar connecting to the lamp holder and supporting the shade above.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways, and side tables in living rooms where coloured accent lighting is needed without overwhelming the space, the Kara provides ambient task light through the drum shade. The glass base itself is hollow and non-illuminated, acting as decorative mass rather than a light source. The lamp accepts a single standard E27 bulb (sold separately) with a maximum 60W rating, typically paired with a warm-white LED between 6-10W for reading or low evening light.

The faux-silk shade is hand-made in the UK and has a slight slub texture that softens the light output while hiding the bulb when the lamp is viewed from typical seated or standing eye level. The aqua glass base shows colour variation in thickness — lighter where the glass is thinner, deeper teal where it's thicker — creating visual interest when daylight passes through the base or when the lamp is lit.
