Description

The Kando P/111 is a floor lamp shaped like a tall lantern: a cylinder shade of white translucent ribbon, finely pleated from top to bottom, held inside a brown three-legged frame with a dark disc across the top. It stands 111cm tall and 49cm across, so it has real presence on the floor without crowding a room. The light comes from an integrated LED, which means there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives 1437lm, softened by the ribbon so the whole shade glows rather than throwing a hard beam.

We think it is happiest in a living room, standing beside a sofa, filling an empty corner or keeping company with a reading chair, where light at seated height feels far more relaxed than a single ceiling fitting. Its lantern form suits calm, natural schemes: pale walls, linen, oak and woven furniture, or a room with a lot of plain surfaces that would welcome some texture. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. Placed in pairs either side of a sofa or a wide window, two of them frame the space nicely.
