This set of three black LED downlights gives a ceiling clean, adjustable light from three small recessed heads. Each round aluminium downlight is 8.8cm across, with the light set into a tilting inner ring so you can angle the beam towards a picture, a worktop or a wall. The LED is integrated, so there is no separate bulb to buy or change, and each light draws 4.9W and gives 440lm. The rating is IP20, which settles where they belong: indoors, in dry rooms, away from steam and splashing water.

Because each one is smart, the set suits a living room, bedroom, hallway or kitchen where one light has to do several jobs. Through the app you can dim them, move the white light between a warm 2700K and a cool 6500K, or switch to colour-changing RGB for a party or a quiet evening. A soft warm white suits winding down after dinner, while the cooler end of the scale keeps a kitchen or home office crisp and bright. They also work with a remote control, which is sold separately and not included in the box.

The bodies are aluminium in black, and the flat round trim sits neatly against a white or pale ceiling, where the dark ring gives a crisp outline. There is no switch on the lights themselves: they are switched at the wall, then the app takes over for brightness and colour. Each needs a cut-out of 6.8cm and a recess depth of 4.2cm, so it is worth measuring the ceiling void before you order. A mains downlight like this is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download, so the cut-outs can be planned before the job begins.
