Description

The Kalik is a candle holder forged from iron, 12cm across and 6cm high. Each one is hand forged using traditional blacksmithing techniques and the surface keeps the textured detail the forging leaves in it. The iron is then finished in antique brass. It is made to take a pillar candle.

The shallow dish sits on three splayed legs, and a spike at its centre holds the candle upright. It suits a mantel, a shelf or the middle of a dining table. One takes a single pillar candle, and several set together carry a run of candles along a mantel or down the centre of a table.

The holder is iron throughout and is forged by hand, and the antique brass finish is applied over the worked surface to bring out its tone and its texture. Because each is made at the forge, the shape and the finish differ slightly from one piece to the next. The candle is not included.

Frequently Asked

What size is it?

12cm across and 6cm high.

What candle does it take?

A pillar candle.

What is it made from?

Iron, hand forged and then finished in antique brass.

Will each one look the same?

Not exactly. Forging leaves slight differences in shape and finish on every piece.

How do I look after it?

Wash it with a mild dish soap and warm water after each use so wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the finish.

Does it get hot in use?

Yes. Stand the candle securely, keep it out of reach of children, wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
