The Kalho cushion leads with a jacquard geometric front worked in velvet: a repeating pattern of tall, tapering blocks in soft pink and warm ochre, where the woven design gives you a matt, brushed feel across the face rather than a printed surface. It measures 45 x 45cm, the standard square that most cushion pads and covers are built around, so it slots straight into an existing arrangement without leaving you hunting for an odd-sized filler.

A 45cm square is the workhorse of a sofa or a bed. Two or three across the back of a settee, or a single one dropped into an armchair, and the geometry does the talking. The pink and ochre palette is warm without being loud, so it sits happily against a neutral sofa, a cream chair or a darker frame, and it holds its own next to plainer velvet cushions in a single colour. Use it where you want a bit of pattern to break up a block of solid upholstery.
