Description

The Kai is a brass swan neck wall light with a single light and a glass that encloses the bulb. A slim brass arm leaves a round backplate, curves up and over in a deep swan neck, then drops straight down to a flat disc shade, with the glass hanging just beneath it. It is 32cm tall and 21cm across, and it reaches 34.5cm out from the wall, so it holds the light well clear of the surface behind it. The fitting takes one E27 bulb and bulbs are sold separately: use an LED bulb of up to 6.5W, the maximum per bulb.

Rated IP65, it is at home in a bathroom, where a pair either side of a mirror frames the basin, and just as happy over a bedside table, beside a dining table or on a living room wall. It comes in Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Matt Black, White and Satin Brass, each with a choice of Clear or Opal glass. Clear glass leaves the bulb on view, while Opal is a milky white glass. The Matt Black and White versions are painted Matt Black RAL 9005 and White RAL 9010, and both carry a Polished Brass shade, a bright contrast against the arm and backplate.

Each Kai is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass and glass. It is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. When you order, settle the finish and the glass together, allow for the 34.5cm projection when you plan where it sits on the wall, and have your E27 bulb ready so the light is working the day it goes up.
