Description

The Kai is a single-light brass wall light with a flat disc shade set above a bulb-shaped glass. An angled arm carries the light out from a round backplate, which gives it a plain, practical look that sits well in both period and modern rooms. It is 31.5cm tall and 21cm wide, and stands 27.5cm out from the wall. It takes one E27 bulb, sold separately, of up to 6.5W per bulb (LED).

Its IP65 rating means it suits a bathroom just as well as a bedroom, dining room or living room, so one design can carry through the whole house. In a bathroom, a pair either side of a mirror frames the basin neatly. In a bedroom, one fixed beside the bed works as a reading light, and in a dining or living room a few along one wall give the space a quiet rhythm. Because it stands 27.5cm proud of the wall, leave a little clearance where people pass.

Each Kai is made to order for you in Ireland, from brass and glass. It comes in seven finishes: Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Satin Brass, Matt Black and White, with Clear or Opal glass. The Matt Black and White versions are painted RAL 9005 and RAL 9010 respectively, and both keep a Polished Brass shade. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, so settle on the finish, the glass and where it will go before you book them in.
