Description

A ceramic jug with a tall, straight sided body, a wide pinched lip and a deep loop handle that joins low on the body. The glaze is cream. A band of dark green drops is painted round the top, the drops longest at the rim and shortening as they run down, and the same drops carry over the lip and round the inside of the rim.

It holds 500ml, which is the measure for milk or cream beside a pot of coffee or tea rather than for water at a table. Juniper Drop runs to plates, bowls, mugs, a teapot and a butter dish in the same pattern.

The jug is ceramic and it is food safe. Each piece is shaped and painted by hand, and the green is worked on with traditional brushwork, so the size and the spacing of the drops differ from one jug to the next. There is also a larger Juniper Drop jug.
