E27 (ES) LED GLS Bulb 8.5W 806lm - Warm White 3000K, Blister Card

This is a GLS bulb, the familiar rounded household shape, built around an LED engine behind a soft opal cover so the light leaves it evenly rather than as a hard point. It draws 8.5W and gives 806 lumens, and the pack marks it as a 60W replacement. The colour temperature is 3000K warm white, the softer, slightly yellow tone most people expect from a living room or bedroom light rather than the crisp white of an office. It is supplied singly, one bulb held on a blister card.

The E27 cap is the larger of the two screw fittings and is often written as ES. If you are matching an old bulb, measure the screw thread: E27 is 27mm across, E14 is 14mm, and a bayonet cap has two pins on the side instead of a thread. Anything with an E27 screw socket, also written as ES. That covers most standard pendants, many table and floor lamps and plenty of shaded ceiling fittings. If the old bulb screws in and its thread measures 27mm across, this replaces it.

How bright is 806 lumens in practice?

It is the brightness people associate with an old 60W filament bulb, and the pack marks it as a 60W replacement. That is comfortable for a main living room pendant, a hallway or a bedside lamp under a shade.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. This bulb is not dimmable, so it needs an ordinary on and off switch. On a dimmer circuit a non-dimmable LED can flicker, hum or fail to strike at lower settings, and its life may be shortened.

What does 3000K warm white actually look like?

It is a soft, gently yellow white, warmer and cosier than the 4000K cool white used in kitchens and workshops, and much warmer than 6500K daylight. It flatters wood, paint and fabric in living rooms and bedrooms.

Is an IP rating given for this bulb?
