Description

The JCB 4.9W LED GLS bulb produces 470 lumens at 3000K warm white colour temperature from a standard B22 bayonet cap fitting. The bulb draws 4.9W on 230V mains and replaces traditional 40W incandescent GLS bulbs with an 88% reduction in energy consumption. The classic GLS (General Lighting Service) shape measures 60mm diameter by 110mm height and fits standard BC lamp holders in ceiling lights, table lamps and wall lights.

Designed for general ambient lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining areas, the 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light tone comparable to halogen or incandescent sources. The non-dimmable design provides consistent output without flicker, making it suitable for switch-only control circuits. The 180-degree beam angle delivers wide light distribution across a room rather than focused spot lighting.

The bulb carries an Energy Rating of F under the updated 2021 EU energy labelling scale, which applies stricter benchmarks than the previous A-G scale used before September 2021. JCB rates the bulb for up to 10 years of typical domestic use based on 2.7 hours daily operation. The bulb switches on instantly to full brightness with no warm-up delay, and the solid-state LED construction handles standard on-off cycling better than compact fluorescent alternatives.
