Description
A pair of tealight holders blown from glass, each a thick-walled round bowl 10cm across and 5cm tall. The surface is matt rather than bright, and the colour runs from a pale grey at the rim down to near black at the foot, the change spread across the middle of the wall rather than falling on a line. The rim is left untrued, so it rises and dips slightly around the circle. Each one is finished by hand, so the two in a set carry the dark band at slightly different heights.
A tealight sits down inside the bowl rather than on top of it, so at 5cm the flame is below the rim and the light comes up through the pale upper band instead of out sideways. The glass reads grey unlit and warm once the candle is in. Ten centimetres is far wider than a tealight needs, so each holder takes the space of a small dish rather than of a candle, and a pair suits a shelf, a table or a mantelpiece.
The glass is recycled and hand blown in a natural smoke tone, and the charcoal is sprayed over it, so the depth of the colour differs from piece to piece. Janka also runs in a plain charcoal and in dark amber. Tealights are not included.

Frequently Asked
How many come in a set?
Two.
What candle does it take?
A tealight, sitting down inside the bowl below the rim.
How big is each one?
10cm across and 5cm tall.
Will the two match?
Not exactly. Each is blown and finished by hand, so the depth of the charcoal and the height at which it fades differ between them.
How do I look after them?
Wash with a mild dish soap and warm water after each use so wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the finish.
Does it get hot in use?
Yes. Stand the tealight securely and keep the flame away from the side of the glass, keep it out of reach of children, let it cool fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
