Description
A chest of three drawers built from reclaimed wood, 90cm tall, 67.5cm wide and 45cm deep. The drawers run the full width and deepen towards the floor, each one fitted with a single dark metal bow handle at the centre. The carcase is heavy plank timber, the top a thick board with a squared edge, and the side frames carry on past the bottom drawer and are notched into two feet at each side with a shaped rail between them.
At 90cm the top stands above most chests and lands at about the height of a dressing surface, so a lamp and a tray sit at eye level standing up rather than needing to be reached down for. The 45cm depth is enough for folded clothing laid flat, and the 67.5cm width suits an alcove or the wall beside a bed.
The wood is reclaimed, cut from ceiling beams taken out of traditional Indian homes, and the planks run from pale straw to a grey brown within a single drawer front. Knots, splits, nail holes and old surface marks stay in the wood. The Iya range also holds a larger double chest of drawers, a tall boy, a bed in King and Super King, a bedside table and a wardrobe in the same timber.

Frequently Asked
How many drawers does it have?
Three, each running the full width and deepening towards the floor.
How big is it?
90cm tall, 67.5cm wide and 45cm deep.
Is there a larger one?
Yes. The Iya chest of drawers is also made in a larger double size, and there is a tall boy in the same range.
Will every chest look the same?
Not exactly. The wood is reclaimed, so the tone, the grain and the marks in it differ from plank to plank and from chest to chest.
How do I look after it?
Wipe the surfaces with a soft dry cloth, along the grain, to lift dust and moisture. Mild soap and water can be used sparingly. Blot spills immediately, keep it out of strong direct sunlight, and avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive materials.
