Description
This red plastic light tube carries the black silhouette of the clown from IT, his face half in shadow with a balloon drifting across one side on its string. The design is printed in solid black against a deep red ground, so one watchful eye, the line of the nose and the slightly parted lips stand out sharply, and the balloon's dark curve fills the rest of the tube. It stands 17cm tall and 9.5cm across, on a round pale base that gives it a tidy finish.
Because it runs on AAA batteries rather than a plug, it can sit wherever it looks best: on a bookshelf among your film favourites, on a bedside table, across a desk or along the mantelpiece. Once lit, the glow shines through the red, washing the space around it in a low crimson light while the black silhouette stays crisp. It suits a games room, a reading nook or any corner that enjoys a darker sense of fun, and at 9.5cm across it takes up very little shelf space.
The tube is made of plastic, with a clear outer wall over the printed red layer, so the design sits behind a smooth, glossy surface. The pale base gives a soft natural contrast to the red and black above it. Keep it looking its best by dusting it with a soft dry cloth now and then, and keep the batteries fresh so the glow stays bright. We like it best on its own on a shelf where the light can fall, or grouped with a few favourite film posters and books for an evening glow that suits the nights drawing in.
